Newborn sessions at Faithful are quiet, unhurried, and built around your baby's natural rhythm. Our trained newborn photographers work from a private climate-controlled studio in Glen Alpine, with a 1A The Hermitage Way alternative for Macarthur and Camden families. Expect time for feeds, settling, and family additions, finished with a personal in-studio gallery reveal.

About your newborn session

The first fourteen days pass faster than anyone warns you. The sleepy curls, the tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way your baby still folds into the same shape they held for nine months — that's the window newborn photography was made for, and it's the window our Sydney studio is built entirely around.

Faithful is an award-winning newborn photography studio in South-West Sydney, led by Marten and Dalia. Our newborn space is climate-controlled to a cosy 25°C, sanitised before every session, and stocked with wraps, gowns, bonnets and props in soft, timeless tones — so you arrive with nothing more than the baby bag. Every pose is safety-trained and unhurried; feeds, cuddles and settling time are part of the plan, never an interruption. Parents, siblings and even grandparents are welcome in the frame at no extra cost.

You'll find us at our Main Studio in Glen Alpine and The George Center in Gledswood Hills, photographing newborns for families across Campbelltown, Camden, Narellan and the wider Macarthur region. Add professional hair and makeup for mum before the session, and finish with a personal in-studio gallery reveal — where your Studio Collection (from $550) is curated together, image by image.

Planning your newborn session

When to book — and the best age for newborn photos

Book during pregnancy, ideally before 28 weeks, so your due-date window is reserved in our calendar. Newborns photograph best between 5 and 14 days old — still sleepy enough for those curled, womb-like poses — though we happily photograph babies up to six weeks for a more awake, expressive style. Babies keep their own schedule, so your booking is a flexible window: when your little one arrives, we lock in the exact date and hold a backup window the following week as a safety net.

How to prepare your baby (and yourself)

A full tummy makes for a dreamy session — feed and settle your baby just before you arrive, and dress them in loose, easy-open clothing so nothing needs tugging over their head. Pop mittens on in the days leading up to the shoot to prevent tiny accidental scratches. The studio is kept warm enough for baby to sleep soundly through posing, and we allow a generous 1–2 hours so nothing is ever rushed — for baby or for you.

What to bring — and what we provide

We provide every outfit, wrap and prop your newborn needs, sized and styled to fit. Bring the essentials — a dummy if you use one, an extra feed, and a face washer for dribbles — plus anything sentimental you'd love woven into the photos: hospital wristbands, an heirloom blanket, a special toy. Mention them when you book so we can plan them into the session. For family portraits, soft neutral tones photograph beautifully against our backdrops.

Everything to know about your newborn session.

When should I book my newborn session?

We recommend booking during pregnancy (ideally before 28 weeks) so your due-date window is reserved. Newborn sessions photograph best between 5 and 14 days old, with 21 days as the latest.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

We hold a flexible window — your final date is locked in once baby arrives. We schedule a backup window in the following week as a safety net.

Are sessions safe for my newborn?

Yes. Our photographers are trained in newborn-safety posing. The studio is climate-controlled to 25°C, sanitised before every session, and we never leave baby unattended.

Can siblings and grandparents join?

Absolutely. Family-included posing is part of every newborn session at no extra cost. Grandparent additions are welcome — please let us know in advance.

How long until we see our gallery?

Edited galleries are typically ready within two weeks. We then book your in-studio gallery reveal to walk you through the images.

How long does a newborn session take?

Allow 1–2 hours in the studio. Your baby sets the pace — feeding, settling and cuddle breaks are built into the session, never squeezed out of it.

What should I bring to the session?

Just the essentials: a dummy if you use one, an extra feed, and a face washer. Everything else — outfits, wraps, props — is provided. Sentimental items like hospital wristbands or an heirloom blanket are very welcome; just let us know in advance.

Do you provide outfits and props?

Yes — our studio wardrobe includes gowns, wraps, bonnets and props for your newborn, all professionally laundered between sessions. Family members joining the photos look best in soft, neutral tones.

How many photos will we receive?

Your edited gallery is revealed in-studio within two weeks, with a minimum of 35 edited images per session — the final number is often higher and varies with each session.
