WHAT IS A CAKE SMASH?
A cake smash is a fun-filled way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday with a touch of sweet chaos and lasting memories.
During this playful cake smash photography session, your little one is encouraged to explore, play with, and dig into a delicious cake—capturing genuine reactions and cheeky expressions. It’s more than a mess; it’s a memory in the making, highlighting your child’s growing personality in a relaxed and joyful setting.
Our full cake smash session includes: Baby and family portraits, the cake smash itself and bath scene shoot to finish with a splash!
We provide all the decorations—balloons, buntings, and themed props—and take care of the clean-up. We can also supply the cake for an additional $100, prepared by our trusted cake maker.
To make your day even more special, we offer professional hair and makeup for mum, done right here in our studio ($85 each).
After your session, you’ll be invited back to view your gallery and select a photo package that best suits you.

When is the Best Time for a Cake Smash?
The ideal age for a cake smash session is between 10 to 11 months. At this stage, babies are full of curiosity and expressive reactions perfect for capturing in photos, yet not too mobile to dash away mid-session! It’s the sweet spot before walking takes over.

We are an accredited professional photography studio based in Sydney’s South West and specialises in family, maternity, newborn, and baby photography services. Our purpose built studio is based in Mount Annan, or if you prefer an outdoor session we can arrange to meet at one of our beautiful local parks.

Here at Faithful Photography, we offer additional makeup and hair styling service to help you look and feel your best for your special photo session. It’s all part of our desire to be your one-stop shop for professional photography.
Dalia offers her professional styling services as “Makeup by Dalia”, and you can take advantage of her skills to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera. Hair and makeup sessions with Dalia only take around 30 minutes, and you can access her services with or without a photo session booked.

Cake Smash Photography Pricing
Session Fee: $150
- Session fee includes a studio session – Cakesmash, individual, sibling and family photos. We also include a cute bath scene at the end.
- The studio session includes the availability to many different set-ups and access to our large selection of props.
- Includes two photographer’s time, talent and a post session ordering appointment to choose your images and products.
- Cake Smash session decorations will be provided.
- Session fees are due on the day of the shoot.
- Bring your own cake or use our cake maker ($85).
- We limit the amount of sessions to ensure the highest quality of product and service to you so it is recommended that you book your session as soon as you have decided to go ahead to avoid disappointment.
